Hugh CURRY of Grand Mira met with death the other day. He intended to go gunning and went to the barn to load his gun. While so engaged it must have exploded prematurely, for when his mother went to call him for dinner she found him dead; the charge of shot having entered the side of his head, causing him to bleed to death. He was a son of Hugh Curry, Grand Mira and was in the 17th year of his age.

Norman McINNIS, age 80, south side of Mira, recently visited Sydney. On his way home he took sick and stopped over at the house of John McDougall where he died in a short time.

A five year old son of Hugh McDONALD, Salmon River road, Mira was lost in the woods on the first of May and no trace of him has since been found.

Died: Grand Mira, N.S., Feb. 2, Mary GILLIS relict of Donard GILLIS, 92nd year. Deceased raised a family of 13, 10 of whom are still living. She also leaves 86 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
