TILL WE MEET AGAIN
By Sal Grippaldi

COMMENTS

This picture hangs on the wall of our local tavern.
It shows a boat loading coal in the 1940s.

On the upper right hand corner of the picture,
the large bank head with the wheel on top,
was of course, the slope to the mine where small
coal cars were hauled up out of the mine and dumped.

The pay office on the Hill (which Dennis talks about),
is part of my back yard and I have a deck
on the original foundation.

The small building below was to house the little steam engine
(shunt) that hauled the coal cars that loaded at the trussel.

Left:
Viola nee Viola Mary Reashor is the widow of Patrick A Jessome of Florence
....she died May 11, 2000.

The dance picture, was taken at the 50th. Anniversary
for Gordon & Sarah [Long} Day.
They were married September 28, 1943.
Gordie & Sarah had the "family band" as they wanted all old songs...
my husband being one of the band who played for them.

Right: Regis is Annie Regis Jessome now widow of the late Walter Day, they were Dennis'
second mother and father as he's so fond of saying... he's always been a part of the family.
Regis' birthday coming up...March 27, 1908.

This is a picture taken April 23rd, 2004, our mom and dad's 75 wedding anniversary. Dennis, of course,
flew home from Ontario to surprise them on their special day, and entertained us with his fiddle music
as he always does.

When we lost dad, in April of last year, Dennis came home again for the funeral.
He never forgets a friend.

That picture was taken on Mrs. Caffiers step. I recognize the window upstairs.
It was right at the top of the stairs. The shutter was the front window where
she displayed her candy and she used to close them every night.

The board across was where the used to put the porch up every winter.
On the left: Eugene Day, Lawerence Day's brother.
Next with the hat: Burgess Penny, son of Jack and Emma (Clarke) Penny.
In the back center: Lawerence Day.
Far right in back: Bobby Laffin.
Right Bottom: Blonde boy is Jimmie Hawkins
Just behind him : Unknown
Blonde girl: Rose (Hawkins) Genter
Front right: Mrs Caffiers.
Far right: my sister Audrey Jessome.
Next: Little girl with a hat, unknown

TILL WE MEET AGAIN
By Sal Grippaldi

Smile the while..you kiss me sad adieu,
When the clouds roll by I'll come to you,
Then the skies will seem more blue...
Down in lovers lane...my dearie
Wedding bells will ring so merrily,
Every tear will be a memory,
Wait and pray each night for me,
Till we meet again.
